Formation guide

Pick the shape for the job

Smaller-sided formats reward width and simple passing triangles. In 11v11, 4-3-3 provides width, 4-4-2 gives two natural forwards, 4-2-3-1 protects the center, and 3-5-2 adds central numbers with wing-back responsibility.

Questions

Soccer lineup generator FAQ

Which soccer formats are supported?

The generator supports 5v5, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11, with common formation presets for each format.

Can I move players after generating the lineup?

Yes. Drag one player onto another position to swap them, drag a substitute onto the field, or use select-and-place controls on touch devices.

Can I add shirt numbers and a captain?

Yes. Enter a shirt number after a vertical bar, such as Jordan | 10. Select any player on the field or bench and use the captain button.

Are player names uploaded?

No. The lineup runs and saves locally in your browser. Shared lineups are encoded after the hash symbol in the URL, which browsers do not send to the server.

Can I download or print the formation?

Yes. You can export a labeled PNG of the field and bench or print a clean lineup sheet directly from the browser.
